Memory Lane Exhibition

For all of us, the death of a musical icon who we admire stirs our emotions. Maybe we saw them live at a concert. Or we wished that we had. Perhaps our parents introduced us to them as a teenager and it was a rare moment of common understanding. It is wave that touches so many in different ways.

But for some, the death of an artist is painful. It creates a hole. The person you will never meet. They will never play again. Now it is only memories. It is a privilege of an artist that they can express this. But it is also a burden. How do you do justice to this person. A human. An artist. An inspiration. Am I worthy of immortalizing my idol? Can I show this in public? I must do it for myself. This is how my emotions are expressed. But can’t put this in front of other eyes? Will they see them in the same way?

Of course not. These beautiful people had an indescribable impact on countless individuals. I can only hope to capture a feeling of what they meant to me. The colour that they added to my life.
